20/21 FPL Gameweek 25

Just seeing how this goes.

The most fun time of the season is when the double gamweeks come along for me. After a shocking DGW24 for me, It’s onto Double Gameweek with Leeds and Southampton. I decided to captain Raphinha after some deliberation but it’s so tight between him and Bamford.

It’s a similar debate to the Kane vs Son fiasco, similar stats, a striker on penalties or the midfielder who gets the extra point for a goal and a CS. However the major difference this time round is ownership. 52% and 23% for Kane and Son, 53% and 3% for Bamford and Raphinha.

Following such a dire gameweek 24 where I ended 3,353,100 with 65pts I am captivated by the maverick pick, and Raphinha surely passes the eye test and has the stats to back it up. He faces a Wolves side who have marked the strikers well, and certainly Bamford will be expected to pull back more with the exclusion of Kalvin Phillips due to injury this Saturday. Wolves have conceded most goals to creative mid types in the last 12 gameweeks. Southampton come straight after and have had poor defence all round. McCarthy has made several key mistakes of late and Raphinha certainly has an eye for a cheeky rounded shot on goal.

Team Reveal
After setting the captaincy on Leeds’ Brazilian power player, I also take Bamford and Dallas who both have a penchant for goal. I don’t expect Dallas to keep a clean sheet but the value offered in attacking returns is well justified.

Watkins was a tough benching choice but Leicester have looked better of late and with Vardy’s return I am backing Barnes to return this week, hopefully complimented with goals from consistent Fernandes, streaky Sterling, Danny Ings and Gundogan back from injury.
