20/21 FPL Gameweek 26

Midweek reveal, didn’t get a chance at the start of the week because I’m dumb as fuck but to be honest I would have built a hype for nothing!

Continuing from last week I simply swapped Bamford to Kane. Two tasty DGW fixtures and a good set to come, and with the addition of Bale I liked the idea of taking the head striker over risking a midfield pick.

I toyed with the idea of a -4 hit to bring in Michael Keane, for either Rudiger or Dier.
Rudiger had two tough opponents with a Fixture Difficulty Rating of 4 but I could see a clean sheet, and it turns out I was correct. Dier was not exactly nailed but had two golden games should he feature. Unfortunately I decided not to, and Keane eventually grabbed himself a 9pt haul in the first game of the week. I can only hope Dier plays the next game otherwise it’s a cameo from 2pt Stu!

To top it off Fernandes was my captain. Reliable, steadfast. A tough game against Chelsea but a game they will want to win, before seeing Crystal Palace who have dropped defensively.

Despite a blank Fernandes kept a clean sheet and so enters into his second game with some nice extra points – You’d be happy if your captain had 3BPS guaranteed in a single game week. Not the best score, but currently feeling confident.

Sterling, Raphinha, Dier were huge letdowns. It’s not without merit though, as Sterling could have scored twice and Raphinha is still a talisman to me, as a Leeds fan. Villa put on a good performance which Leeds were unable to match. Barnes is very unfortunate. He’s been at the form of his life, right in the spotlight and Leicester had a great run of fixtures. I hope for a speedy recovery, until then it’s looking like Grealish, Lingard, Mount or Saka in.

And Fuck me right off, I forgot completely about my keeper. Look at this sodding bastard right here!

Gameweek not going to plan as of yet, I’m hoping Fernandes pops off to make a worthwhile captain and catch up to the villa defence owners, double city owners and maybe catch a green arrow. 2020 hasn’t been the year for me, or any of us. But it’s nice to laugh in the face of adversity!
